Contributing Photographer at Great Bowery

Jessica Gwozdz has over 20 years of professional experience in a variety of fields. From 1995 to 1997, they worked as a Project Engineer at Riddell, Inc. where they tested new football and baseball helmet materials to assure compliance with industry standards and evaluated proposals from outside inventors. From 1997 to 2002, they were a Team Leader/Program Manager at Abbott Laboratories, where they were responsible for international launches and software upgrades of a portable infusion pump and led multi-site international cross-functional teams. In 2003, they started their own portraiture studio, Jessica Gwozdz Photography, which they ran until 2013. During this time, they were also a Contributing Photographer for Getty Images from 2012 to 2017 and for Gallery Stock from 2017 to 2018. From 2008 to 2013, they were a Mentor and Instructor for Clickin Moms, and from 2013 to 2019, they worked as a contract stock photographer for several different stock agencies. In 2016, they became Program Manager and Administrator for Cascade Crush Baseball & Fastpitch Club, where they managed budgets, schedules, and all communication for the girls’ fastpitch softball program. Finally, from 2014 to 2016, they were a Contributing Photographer for Shestock and an Administrator and Workshop Instructor for The Photographer Within, where they managed the blog and company Facebook page, wrote tutorials, mentored beginning photographers, and taught studio lighting workshops. In 2018, they began working as Safety Coordinator and Documentation Specialist for Downers Grove Sanitary District, where they developed safety programs for wastewater treatment plant, translated OSHA standards into work procedures and policies, created and implemented an online hazard reporting system, and was responsible for verifying the completeness of each resident's file, tracking down missing elements, scanning all paper documentation, and developing a system to allow staff to access file contents during the digitization process.

Jessica Gwozdz completed a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University in 1993, followed by an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 1995. Jessica also holds a Certified Professional Photographer certification from the Professional Photographers of America.
