Michael Lai

Michael Lai possesses extensive experience in senior leadership roles across various sectors, particularly in the telecommunications and insurance industries. Currently serving as a Board Member and part of the Board Risk Management Committee at Great Eastern General Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad since October 2019, Michael has previously held positions such as Independent Non-Executive Director at G3 Global Berhad and Group Director of Corporate Development at MyRepublic. Notably, as CEO of Packet One Networks (P1), Michael established the first successful USD400 million 4G-WiMAX wireless operator in Southeast Asia. Additional leadership experience includes roles as CEO at TM Net Sdn Bhd and as Senior Vice President at Celcom Malaysia. Michael holds a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
