Ramón D. Díaz has a diverse work experience in various research and academic roles. They recently held the position of Director of Production at Great Lakes Crystal Technologies since June 2021. Prior to this, Ramón was a Ph.D. candidate at Michigan State University from October 2020 to May 2021. During their time at the university, they also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Fraunhofer USA and as a Graduate Research Assistant.

Before joining Michigan State University, Ramón worked as a Research Assistant and later as an Adjunct Professor of Physics at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. They were also an Adjunct Professor of Physics and Statistics at Interamerican University - Barranquitas, and an Adjunct Professor of Physics at Interamerican University - Metro Campus.

In addition to their academic roles, Ramón Díaz gained industry experience as the Production Manager at Cutting Edge Superconductors, Inc. where they were responsible for sample and equipment management, as well as data measurement and analysis. They also worked as an R&D Staff member at the same company, focusing on the production of superconducting bulk samples and superconducting wires.

Prior to joining Cutting Edge Superconductors, Inc., Ramón served as an Adjunct Professor of Physics and Algebra at Centro de Estudios Multidisciplinarios - Rio Piedras. They also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Physics at Universidad de Puerto Rico - Mayaguez, where they gained experience in laboratory instruction for various physics courses.
