Cristina Metcalf has a diverse and extensive work experience in the education sector. Cristina began their career in 2005 as a Classroom Teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where they taught dual language (Spanish) classes. In 2008, they moved to the Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, initially working as a Classroom Teacher and later becoming the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Starting from 2012, Cristina joined Great Minds and held various roles within the company, including Grade Level Lead Writer, Senior Curriculum Developer, Associate Director of Eureka Math, and currently Director of Curriculum Design.
Cristina Metcalf holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Columbia University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2002. Cristina further pursued their education at UCLA, where they earned a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from 2004 to 2006. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained certifications including an Administrative Services Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and a BCLAD (Bilingual, Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development) credential for Spanish and Multiple Subjects Teaching.
