James Deaton

James Deaton is a seasoned technology executive currently serving as the Vice President of Network Services at Internet2, a role assumed in March 2023. Prior to this position, James held the role of Executive Director at Great Plains Network from October 2017 to March 2023. From July 1996 to September 2017, James served as the Chief Technology Officer for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Earlier in James's career, a tenure at the University of Oklahoma as a Senior Applications Programmer took place from 1992 to 1995. James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, where studies were completed from August 1991 to December 1997.
