Simon Best

Simon Best has extensive experience in various roles related to economic development, innovation funding, and business support. Simon has served as the Head of Inward Investment at Great Yarmouth Borough Council, where they were responsible for securing external funding and leading partnerships for major capital and revenue programs. Simon also worked as a Lead Product Manager at Cybrid Associates, providing design and build services for web and online applications. Additionally, they served as an Innovation Funding Consultant at Mogees Ltd and as the European Strategy Manager at Nwes | Business Support, where they focused on securing investment and developing strategic partnerships. Simon has also worked at Breckland Council as the Low Carbon Business Growth Programme Manager, leading successful bids for EU-backed funding and promoting sustainable business growth. Earlier in their career, they held senior roles at Ricardo Energy & Environment, Envirowise, SameDayNet Ltd, Ecotech Centre Ltd, and the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia.

Simon Best attended The Dorchester Thomas Hardye School from 1988 to 1993 where they completed their high school education focusing on subjects such as Biology, German, and General Studies. After graduating from high school, they went on to study at the University of Wales from 1993 to 1996, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc(Hons)) degree in Zoology. Following that, from 1996 to 1998, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Environmental Impact Assessment, also at the University of Wales. In 1998, they briefly attended the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Management Studies.
