Julie Govreau

Julie Govreau has over a decade of experience in employee benefits law. Julie began their career as an associate at Kohler & Passarelli in 2004 and then moved on to Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. in 2005, where they briefly served as an associate. In 2006, they joined Morgan Lewis as an associate and worked there until 2013. During their time at Morgan Lewis, they gained extensive experience in employee benefits law. In 2013, Julie joined Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP as Counsel and co-chaired the National ESOP Litigation Practice. In this role, they focused on ERISA litigation, including ESOP litigation, and represented clients in prominent ESOP cases. After three years at Drinker Biddle & Reath, Julie moved on to become the Senior Vice President & General Counsel at GreatBanc Trust Company in 2016. In this role, they managed legal compliance and provided legal support for the company's Qualified Retirement Plan Services group, specializing in custom engagements related to ESOPs and other fiduciary trusteeships. Julie is also actively involved in professional and trade associations related to ESOPs and frequently speaks at ESOP conferences on topics such as ERISA litigation, ERISA regulation, and fiduciary issues.

Julie Govreau attended DePaul University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Master's degree in Public Services Management. Julie then went on to study at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law from 2000 to 2006, receiving a JD and LLM in Employee Benefits.
