Heather Ross is an experienced professional in grants management and environmental policy, currently serving as a Grants Officer at Greater Boston Legal Services since December 2016. In this role, Heather maintains and grows a portfolio of grants and contracts, conducts funding research, and designs project proposals. Prior experience includes working as an Environmental Protection Specialist at the Environmental Protection Agency, where Heather supported nonprofit organizations in advancing environmental justice, and as a Legislative Director for the Massachusetts House of Representatives, managing proposed legislation. Heather also served in consulting roles focused on environmental justice strategies and voter participation initiatives. Heather holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University.

Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) plays an indispensable role in the lives of poor people in the Boston area by providing free, high-quality civil (noncriminal) legal assistance to low-income individuals and families. GBLS helps its clients navigate the complex maze of laws and regulations, enabling them to obtain the basic necessities of life. GBLS annually provides assistance to over 10,000 people who live at or below 125% of the federal poverty standard ($30,750 for a family of 4).
