Deirdre R. Jones, MPA has extensive work experience in law enforcement and public safety. Deirdre R. is currently serving as the Chief of Police/Director of Security at the Greater Cleveland RTA. Prior to this, they held roles such as Member of the Civil Service Commission for the City of Richmond Heights, Ohio and Adjunct Professor at Notre Dame College.

From 2017 to the present, Deirdre worked as an Outside Agency Promotional Assessor for various police departments including the Ann Arbor PD and Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD. From 2018 to 2021, they served as the LGBT Liaison for the City of Cleveland Department of Public Safety.

Deirdre's previous experience includes serving as the Commander of the Bureau of Support Services for the Cleveland Division of Police from 2016 to 2021. Deirdre R. also served as a Commissioner for the Cleveland Community Police Commission in 2016.

Prior to these roles, Deirdre served in various positions within the Cleveland, Ohio Division of Police. This included working as a Sergeant in the Homicide Unit, Domestic Violence Unit, Integrity Control Section/Inspection Unit, and Uniform Patrol. Deirdre R. also worked as an Investigator in the Domestic Violence Unit and Vice Unit, as well as a Patrol Officer.

Deirdre's work experience demonstrates their expertise in law enforcement operations, leadership, policy development, and community engagement. Deirdre R. has a strong background in promoting police reform and addressing the needs of diverse communities.

Deirdre R. Jones, MPA, has a diverse education history that showcases their commitment to developing their skills in various fields. In 1998, they obtained Basic Instructor Certification from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services Management, specializing in Criminal Justice, at the University of Phoenix from 2008 to 2012.

In 2012, Deirdre attended the Police Executive Leadership College, where they focused on Organizational Leadership. Deirdre R. also obtained the Executive Leadership certification from the college in November of the same year. Continuing their education, Deirdre completed a Master's degree in Public Administration at Villanova University, graduating in 2015.

Deirdre's commitment to professional development is further evident through their certifications. In 2010, they became a Master Trainer in Domestic Violence under the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLET-C) within the Department of Homeland Security. Deirdre R. also obtained a certification in Leadership in Police Organizations from the International Association of Chiefs of Police in June 2014. Additionally, Deirdre completed the Women in Law Enforcement Leadership Training Program at FLET-C in May 2015.
