Elaine Olinger Collet

Director Of Volunteer Engagement at Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity

Elaine Olinger Collet has a diverse background in nonprofit and community engagement. Starting in 2003, they began their career as a Marketing/Public Relations Intern at the Des Moines Playhouse. Elaine then served as an Outreach Coordinator at the Metro Arts Alliance of Greater Des Moines from 2004 to 2006. Following that, they worked at the Southeast Polk Community School District as a Community Projects Specialist from 2006 to 2011.

In 2011, Elaine transitioned to the role of Web Account Manager at The Stelter Company, where they worked until 2013. During their time at The Stelter Company, they developed strong skills in web account management.

Elaine briefly served as the Outreach Director at Farm Safety For Just Kids in 2013, where they managed a network of farm safety chapters and coordinated training materials. Next, they joined the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Iowa in 2014 as the Coordinator of Special Events and Volunteerism. In this role, they oversaw special events and volunteer coordination.

Elaine's most recent experience includes their time at the Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. Elaine started as the Volunteer Engagement Manager in 2019 and was promoted to Director of Volunteer Engagement in March 2022. In this capacity, they played a pivotal role in managing and engaging volunteers for the organization.

Elaine Olinger Collet obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English, Journalism, and Mass Communications from Simpson College. Elaine pursued their education at Simpson College from 2000 to 2004.
