Claire Stocks

Claire Stocks is an experienced professional in active travel and digital media strategy. Currently serving as an Active Travel Strategy Officer for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Claire supports the Active Travel Commissioner and collaborates with various organizations to promote sustainable transport initiatives like the Bee Network. As a founder member and Director of Chorlton Bike Deliveries, Claire advocates for community-based cargo bike deliveries. Previously, Claire held senior roles at the BBC, including Head of Digital for BBC Children's and multiple positions within BBC Sport, leading significant digital transformations and content development. Claire also co-hosts the Weekly National Active Travel Forum and has contributed to several community projects aimed at enhancing participation in active travel and reducing carbon emissions. With a background rooted in journalism and media, Claire holds a postgraduate diploma in Newspaper Journalism and a bachelor's degree in Politics and International Relations.
