Sandaru Weerasinghe

Dr. Sandaru Weerasinghe is a Lead Analyst at Greater Manchester Combined Authority since October 2022, with extensive experience in urban studies and geographical information science. Currently serving as a PhD Candidate and Associate Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, Dr. Weerasinghe has been involved in various educational roles and initiatives, including the Executive Committee of the Moraspirit Initiative. Previous positions include tutoring in MA Architecture and Urbanism at Manchester School of Architecture, Editorial Secretary for the International Review for Spatial Planning and Sustainable Development, and volunteering with the United Nations. Dr. Weerasinghe holds a Master of Science in Geographical Information Science from The University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Science in Town and Country Planning from the University of Moratuwa.
