Karla G. Rivera

Karla Rivera joined the Foundation October 2019. She moved to New Orleans in 2005 to attend Tulane University where she earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in sociocultural anthropology.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Karla served as the Chief of Staff for the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORD). During her time with NORD, Karla co-chaired the Local Host Committee for the 2017 National Recreation & Parks Association Conference, led divisional work to achieve national accreditation, served on the editorial board of the National Recreation & Parks Association magazine, and drove continuous improvement in process and procedure to align organizational priorities.
