Geoffrey King

Geoffrey King has a diverse work experience with expertise in strategy, economic development, and sustainability. Geoffrey is currently the Vice President of Strategy at Greater St. Louis, Inc., where they focus on job creation, economic growth, and improvement in the St. Louis area. Geoffrey is also a Board Member at the World Affairs Council of St. Louis.

Previously, Geoffrey worked as a Manager at Energy Shrink, LLC, where they provided consulting services for sustainability and energy efficiency in high-performance buildings. Geoffrey also co-authored a research paper on green building rating systems. Before that, they served as the Regional Program Director at Connected DMV, managing various strategic regional initiatives focused on economic development, quantum information science, emergency food relief, and flexible work policies.

Geoffrey's experience also includes working as a Manager at The Alnair Group, advising the Greater Washington Board of Trade as a Business Consultant, and as a Senior Consultant at IP3. Geoffrey started their career as a Management Consulting Senior Analyst at Accenture.

In addition, Geoffrey has completed a fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University and worked as a Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy, where they focused on oil markets, natural gas sector capacity building, and energy sector analysis in various countries.

Geoffrey King began their education at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, MO, where they completed grades 7 to 12 from 1996 to 2002. Geoffrey then went on to attend Davidson College from 2002 to 2006, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History and International Studies with a focus on the Middle East and South Asia. During their time at Davidson College, Geoffrey also participated in a study abroad program in Amman, Jordan at the School for International Training in 2005.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Geoffrey pursued further education in Arabic Linguistics at l'Institut Francais du Proche-Orient (IFPO-ifead) in Damascus, Syria, where they obtained a graduate-level certificate from 2007 to 2008. In 2005, they also attended Middlebury College for a Summer Immersion Arabic School.

Geoffrey's academic journey continued at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) from 2014 to 2016, where they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Affairs and International Economics.
