Jo Frances

Jo Frances is a seasoned environmental professional with extensive experience in regulatory and policy roles, currently serving as the Lead Consenting Advisor at Greater Wellington Regional Council since September 2017. Previous positions include leading a team of urban water professionals, managing the Parks Department, and overseeing significant organizational transitions aimed at improving environmental outcomes through partnerships with mana whenua. Jo's background encompasses strategic advisory roles at both Greater Wellington Regional Council and the Ministry for the Environment, as well as experience in policy analysis and scientific research. Jo holds a Master of Science in Marine Sciences from the University of Otago and a Bachelor of Science in Ecology from Victoria University of Wellington.
