Virginia Dobson

Virginia Dobson is an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer currently working at Greeley and Hansen, a TYLin Company, since June 2023. Prior to this role, Virginia served as an Assistant Engineer II in Instrumentation and Controls at Hazen and Sawyer from August 2018 to June 2023, where responsibilities included overseeing DCS to PLC system conversions and reviewing control panel designs. Virginia’s previous experience at Brown and Caldwell, both as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer and a Student Trainee in Electrical Engineering, involved drafting process flow diagrams, standardizing control tags, and enhancing knowledge of the National Electric Code. An undergraduate researcher at the Opportunity Research Scholars' Program, Virginia developed machine learning applications and secured third place in a research competition. Virginia began the engineering journey as an Engineering Aide at Polytron, where contributions included designing control panels and providing system integration support. Virginia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, completed in 2015.
