Elizabeth Fjerstad is an experienced professional in human resources and administration with a career spanning over a decade. Currently serving as Associate Director of HR & Administration at the Green Building Initiative since January 2017, Elizabeth has held various positions within the organization, including Sr. Manager and Manager of HR & Client Services. Prior experience includes roles at Vaco as Office Manager/HR Assistant, Abengoa Brasil as Project Executive Assistant/HR Assistant, and LogicalisUS as Administrative Assistant to Sales. Elizabeth's early career includes positions at Magellan Health and Cavco Industries, Inc. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Northern Arizona University and multiple Associate of Arts degrees from Phoenix College.

The Green Building Initiative (GBI) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the built environment and reduce climate impacts through exceptional education, tools, standards, and assessments that deliver sustainable, healthy, and resilient buildings. Our strategy for accomplishing our goals involves education and promotion on the use of GBI's Green Globes certification program for commercial buildings and GBI's Guiding Principles Compliance and third-party assessment program for federal building sustainability requirements.
