Green Our Planet
Katie Zimmerman is an accomplished education and engagement coach currently working at Green Our Planet since August 2022, where additional responsibilities include serving as a school garden coordinator. Prior experience includes a position as a mathematics instructor at Mathnasium - The Math Learning Center from February 2021 to August 2022, and a notable tenure as a ballet dancer with the Nevada Ballet Theater from August 2015 to August 2022. Katie also gained experience as an intern with The Mother Earth Podcast between September 2021 and December 2021. Katie Zimmerman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ballet from Indiana University Bloomington, earned between August 2012 and May 2015.

With a mission to conserve and improve the environment GoP brings the worlds of nature, technology and education together to create alchemy! We provide 'know how' and infrastructure to rockstar teachers who want their students to learn about about science, nutrition, technology, and nature through building and tending their own outdoor and indoor gardens at school! We know that when students in PreK-12th grade schools learn about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), they absorb and engage better by doing! Green Our Planet (GoP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit conservation organization that runs the largest and one of the most comprehensive school garden programs in the United States.
