Green River College
Marwa A. has extensive work experience in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Marwa started their career at Green River College in 2014 and held various roles in the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Program Coordinator and then as an Assistant Director, focusing on supporting students of color and underrepresented students. In 2016, they were promoted to the position of Director, where they directed, developed, and implemented diversity and equity strategies for the college. Marwa also co-chaired the Green River Diversity & Equity Council, leading initiatives and facilitating staff and faculty training on equitable hiring practices. In addition to their work at Green River College, Marwa also served as the President of the Multicultural Student Services Directors Council since 2021. Marwa also gained experience as a Project Coordinator at AmeriCorps in 2012 and as a Government Affairs Intern at the Council on American-Islamic Relations National Headquarters in the same year.
Marwa A. earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Western Washington University. Currently, Marwa is pursuing a Masters of Education at the University of Washington Tacoma, with an expected completion date in 2021.
