Renee Sass joined the company in 2015 as Chief Financial Officer to lead the company’s fund raising efforts, oversee its financial reporting and planning activities, and manage the U.S. and international accounting and tax activities. Sass has more than 28 years of experience in the global energy and infrastructure industry in both management and consulting positions. As a partner of Fairlead Advisors, she had held principal and advisory roles with private sector cleantech startups, global energy companies, private equity investors, and government agencies with much of her work focused on debt and equity financing, acquisitions, asset divestitures, and other transactions. She has served as interim-CEO of a motor technical company, CFO of a clean energy technology company startup, and CFO of a power development company. From 1991 to 2002, she worked at NRG Energy, Inc. serving in a variety of senior finance and development positions before joining the senior management team as Vice President-Strategic Planning and Portfolio Assessment. Sass started her energy career in 1988 as a member of the Utilities Consulting Practice of Ernst & Young. She has taught as an adjunct instructor of Master of Business Administration and undergraduate finance courses at several colleges and universities. Sass holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Arts in communication arts and business marketing from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
