Craig Shannon

Governor at Greenhead College

Craig was appointed as a governor in July 2017 and is a member of the Finance and Estates and the Quality and Standards Committees. He previously served on Audit and Risk Committee.

Originally from Halifax where he attended Heath Grammar School, Craig moved to Huddersfield the long way round: via Selwyn College, Cambridge (Economics), The Wharton School, Philadelphia (Business Administration) and approximately fifteen countries on four continents pursuing a career in consulting and financial services. He was a partner in a global strategy consulting firm and has served on the main boards and/or executive committees of The Co-operative Bank, Co-operative Insurance Society, Friends Provident and International Personal Finance.

Eventually arriving in Huddersfield , he served as a governor of Silcoates School in Wakefield for six years before joining the Greenhead College Governing Body. Craig is married and two of his three sons have been students at Greenhead whilst the third is still worrying about GCSEs. All three of them regularly beat him at tennis, but the jury is still out on who is the best musician.
