Geoscience Director at Greenlake Energy

Samuel Simmons has extensive work experience in the energy industry, with a focus on geoscience and data science. Samuel'smost recent role is as the Director of Geoscience at Greenlake Energy Ventures since September 2021. Previously, they worked as a Data Science Advisor at FedEx Services from February 2021 to September 2021. Prior to that, Samuel held various roles at Parsley Energy, including Senior Petrophysicist from August 2019 to February 2021, Senior Geologist from January 2017 to August 2019, and Geologist II from August 2014 to January 2017. Samuel also worked as an Associate Geologist at Statoil from November 2012 to August 2014 and completed a Summer DPNA Bakken Unit Geology Internship at Statoil from May 2012 to August 2012. Samuel began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Houston from August 2011 to May 2012 and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2010 to May 2011. Prior to their studies, Samuel completed a NASA Student Research Internship from May 2009 to September 2009.

Samuel Simmons completed a Data Analysis & Visualization Bootcamp at The University of Texas at Austin from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Geology/Geochemistry from the University of Houston, which they attended from 2010 to 2012. Samuel also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geology and Geophysics from the same institution, earned between 2006 and 2010. Samuel's education journey began at St. Thomas High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma in General Studies from 2002 to 2006.
