Janine Allison

Janine Allison has extensive work experience in the food industry, with a focus on product development and technical management. Janine started their career as a Chemistry Lab Technician, where they conducted various analyses and produced accurate blend correction reports. Janine then progressed to the role of Chemist, where they expanded their responsibilities to include maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, as well as coordinating the trim monitoring program. Janine later became a Senior Chemist, taking on additional tasks such as training staff and conducting nutritional analysis.

In 2006, Janine transitioned to a supervisory role as a Chemistry Lab Supervisor, where they managed a team of lab personnel and ensured efficient testing and analysis processes. Janine also had responsibilities in hiring and training new staff members. After this, they moved into product development and became a Product Developer, utilizing their technical expertise to create and improve retail products for various customers. Janine developed strong relationships both internally and externally, contributing to the development of over 40 product formulations using specific meat sourcing.

Janine then took on a more senior position as a Senior Product Developer, leading a team responsible for standardizing formulation templates and launching several successful lunch kit and snacking products. Janine provided technical coaching and expertise to their team and collaborated with cross-functional teams to meet product launch goals.

In 2015, Janine joined Maple Leaf Foods Inc as a Product Development Manager, where they mentored and coached junior product developers and implemented continuous improvement initiatives. Janine successfully launched a new children's lunch kit, which exceeded sales forecasts. Janine continued to work closely with senior leadership and contributed to the company's growth.

Most recently, Janine's work experience includes their role as the Director of Commercial Execution at Greenleaf Foods, where they implemented processes for project alignment and commercialization. Janine also led the implementation of SAP RD to Greenleaf's US plants.

Janine Allison completed their undergraduate education at the University of Waterloo from 1997 to 2001, where they earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. Their studies at the University of Waterloo focused on the fields of Biology, Chemistry, and Gerontology. Janine also pursued additional education at the University of Guelph, where they obtained a Certificate in Food Science. Apart from their formal education, Janine has also acquired a certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt from Level 1 institution.
