Sam L. Smith Jr.

Sam L. Smith Jr., MBA, CPRW is an experienced executive leader with a strong background in community engagement and organizational impact. Currently serving as Executive Director at GreenLight Fund since August 2022, Sam leads efforts to address community needs in Charlotte, NC by managing a Selection Advisory Council and cultivating relationships with various stakeholders. Prior to this role, Sam was the Director of External Engagement at United Way of Central Carolinas, where responsibilities included managing a community investment fund and developing grant opportunities. With previous experience in student success coordination at Carolinas College of Health Sciences, membership development at North Carolina Technology Association, and career services at ITT Technical Institute, Sam has demonstrated expertise in fostering collaboration, strategic planning, and enhancing community resources. Sam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Baker College and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Phoenix.
