Brad O'Brien has a diverse work experience in the financial wellness industry. Brad started their career in 2007 as a Team Leader-Financial Counselor for GreenPath Debt Solutions, where they were responsible for business and staff development in Southeast Wisconsin. Brad provided one-on-one financial assessments, budgeting, and action plans, as well as conducted financial workshops and seminars for the community.
In 2012, O'Brien joined GreenPath Financial Wellness as a Financial Wellness Operations Manager, overseeing multiple offices and satellite locations. Brad was responsible for business development, securing funding, staff development/management, and strategic vision for the company in their region.
In 2017, O'Brien transitioned to the role of Learning Experience Design Manager at GreenPath Financial Wellness. Brad led a team of designers focused on creating impactful financial education experiences using empathetic communication and Human Centered Design principles.
From 2020 to 2021, O'Brien served as an Advisory Board member for the Michigan Diversity Council, and from 2022 to 2023, they served on the Advisory Board for the Pennsylvania Diversity Council (Philadelphia Chapter).
Most recently, O'Brien held the positions of Director of Learning, Insights, and Design (2021-2023) and Director of Innovation and Learning at GreenPath Financial Wellness (2023-present). In these roles, they led organizational initiatives, fostered a culture of continuous learning and innovation, and focused on improving financial health through digital engagement and education.
Brad O'Brien attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2003 to 2007, where they received a degree in Political Science and International Studies. In 2006, they participated in the United Nations Summer Program at NYU.
