Professor Of Art at Greensboro College

James v Langer serves as a Professor of Art and Chair of the Department of Art at Greensboro College since January 1995, with extensive teaching experience in Painting, Drawing, Art History, and Capstone Portfolio courses. Langer directed the Irene Cullis Gallery from 2006 to 2016 and has had a progressive academic career at Greensboro College, holding various positions from part-time adjunct instructor to full-time professorship. In addition to academic responsibilities, Langer is the director of the Cullis and Galyon Galleries, where curation and maintenance of the galleries and permanent collection are key duties. Langer has also operated JvL Art since 1982 as a sole proprietor, focusing on diverse artistic expressions including painting, sculpture, and performance art. With an MFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a BFA from Boston University, Langer has a strong educational background complemented by previous experience as a part-time art history lecturer and as a merchandiser and entertainer with Ringling Bros./Feld Entertainment.
