Niels Huisman has a diverse work experience. Niels started their career in 2011 as a Motorcycle Mechanic at The Daily Rider Motoworks. Niels then transitioned to working at Vermont Technical College in 2014, where they served as an IT Helpdesk Technician and later as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, primarily focusing on developing spaceflight software for the Lunar IceCube mission. In 2004, Niels joined the 40th Army Band, Vermont Army National Guard, as a Staff Sergeant, where they maintained soldier skills and proficiency in various instruments. Since 2017, Niels has been working at Greensea Systems, Inc., where they have held multiple roles, including Production Technician, Junior Engineer, DevOps and Software CI & QA, and currently as a Program Manager for Science Vehicles. In these roles, they have exhibited strong technical skills in assembling and wiring marine electrical devices, performing software configuration, and supporting customers with integration and troubleshooting. Overall, Niels has gained expertise in technical roles and has shown proficiency in various fields throughout their career.
Niels Huisman pursued their education at Vermont Technical College, where they completed an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from 2013 to 2015. Niels further continued their studies at the same institution and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electromechanical Technology/Electromechanical Engineering Technology in the year 2017.
