Asha J. is an experienced educator and scientist currently serving as the Head of Science and an Agriculture, Science, and Careers Teacher at Craigavon Senior High School since September 2021. Concurrently, Asha J. lectures in Life and Chemical Sciences and manages the Life Sciences Hub for Further Education in Northern Ireland at Southern Regional College, while also directing the Ulster University Foundation Degree in Applied and Medical Science. Previous roles include Senior Formulation Development Scientist at Almac Group and Scientific Officer at the Health Products Regulatory Authority. Southern Regional College is one of the largest education providers in Northern Ireland with approximately 10,000 students enrolled annually and over 900 members of staff. Straddled between the two council areas of Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon and Newry, Mourne & Down in the southern part of NI, the College operates from 5 campuses in Armagh, Banbridge, Lurgan, Newry and Portadown, with community provision also offered across the region. The courses at Southern Regional College cover almost all subject areas and include full-time and part-time academic and vocational qualifications at various levels for pre-16, post-16 and 19+ (adults) options. Programmes range from recreational hobby courses through to degree and master’s level qualifications, in addition to Apprenticeships at Further and Higher Level.
