Shang Jia has held various positions in the past seven years. In 2015, they began their career as an Intern at Marvell Semiconductor, where they were responsible for code debugging and assisting programmers and engineers. In 2017, they became a Water Safety Attendant (Recreation Leader) at the City of Fremont, where they were primarily responsible for the supervision of on-site recreation activities at the water park and safe operations of all rides. In 2019, they became an Emergency Medical Technician at the Alameda County Public Health Department. In 2021, they became a Project Lead at Thales, where they built and demoed the In-Flight Sky Projection of Dynamic Sky Map prototype for The Thales Aerospace Company's commercial airplanes. Finally, in 2022, they became a Technical Support Specialist at GreenValley International.

Shang Jia began their educational journey in 2014 when they completed their High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates from Mission College. From 2015 to 2018, they attended Free Code Camp to pursue Web Page, Digital/Multimedia and Information Resources Design. In 2018, Shang Jia began their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering at UC Irvine, which they are expected to complete in 2022. In 2019, Shang Jia also obtained an Emergency Medical Technician Certification from the Department of Combat Medic Training.
