Aik Hong Tan serves as a Principal of Greenwood Hospitality Group. In this role, he is actively engaged in the financial and investment disciplines and growth strategies of the company.
With over 25 years experience in the financial and hospitality arena, Tan served as President of Richfield Hospitality from 2002 through mid-2009. Under his leadership, the company grew to become one of the top-ranked management companies in the U.S. During his tenure he also expanded the company’s role from a third-party property manager to an entity actively engaged in the hospitality acquisition and investment arena.
Prior to joining Richfield, Tan directed one of Asia’s leading e-commerce companies representing over 3,000 hotels worldwide. Additionally, he was a senior financial executive of a publicly traded company on the Singapore Exchange, with emphasis on power plant and energy related holdings.
During his career, Tan has overseen a number of major initiatives including development of mixed-use real estate projects, issuance of bonds to international financial institutions, disposition strategies for power related companies, oversight of e-commerce/GDS and purchasing disciplines in the hospitality arena.
Tan earned a Master of Business Administration degree and Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore, and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. He currently serves on the Executive Board to the School of Hospitality, Restaurant & Tourism Management at the University of Denver.
