Sophia Goreczky has worked in the User Experience field since 2007. Sophia began as a Research Intern at the NBTC at Cornell University, where they became proficient in the making of microfluidic devices in a clean room setting. In 2010, they worked as a Computer Science National Science Foundation Researcher at Trinity University. In 2011, they worked as a User Experience Intern at Inkba, where they focused on website UI and enhancing user experience. Sophia also held Teaching Assistant roles at Cornell University for CS 2300: Intermediate Web Programming and Design, and INFO 1100: Introduction to Media Programming. In 2012, they worked as a User Experience Designer at Coverity, where they developed an interactive prototype built in HTML, CSS, and JQuery, created training videos to teach sales engineers about the new features, and aligned Front and Back-end developers on feature development. From 2014 to 2022, they worked at Synopsys Inc, where they held roles as Staff User Experience Designer, Senior User Experience Designer, and Head Of User Experience. In their role as Head Of User Experience, they managed a group of 10 people working on multiple software security products and helped to mature the organization's understanding of User Experience (UX) while scaling their practice. In 2022, they began their current role as Lead User Experience Designer at Gremlin.
Sophia Goreczky holds an Engineer's Degree in Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction from Cornell University. In addition, they have obtained two certifications from the Nielsen Norman Group: a User Experience Master Certification (UXMC) in April 2020, and a User Experience Certification (UXC) in December 2016.
