Philippe Cardin

Conseiller Métropolitain at Grenoble-Alpes Métropole

Philippe Cardin is an experienced leader and researcher with extensive involvement in academia and local governance. Currently serving as Président and PDG at SPL SAGES since October 2020 and as Président at OSU Institut Pythéas since January 2023, Philippe also holds the position of Vice président at EP SCoT since September 2020. As Maire of Ville de Meylan and Conseiller municipal since March 2008, and Conseiller Métropolitain at Grenoble-Alpes Métropole since March 2014, Philippe plays a significant role in regional leadership. Philippe’s academic career includes a long tenure as Directeur de recherche at CNRS since October 1993, and previous leadership positions at ISTerre and LGIT. Philippe obtained a doctorat in géophysique from Pierre and Marie Curie University and has additional degrees from École normale supérieure de Lyon and Université Grenoble Alpes, further establishing expertise in geophysics and fluid mechanics.
