Carla Gay

Carla Gay currently serves as the Executive Director of Innovation and Partnerships at Gresham-Barlow School District 10J, a position held since July 2018. With extensive experience in educational leadership, Carla previously worked as the Director of Early Response Systems and College & Career Readiness at Portland Public Schools from April 2007 to June 2018, where notable contributions included implementing data-driven interventions and promoting equitable access to academic resources. Carla also held roles such as Vice Principal at the Reconnection Center and Program Director for the Office of Multiple Pathways to Graduation, focusing on alternative education solutions for at-risk youth. Earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Alternative Pathways at Multnomah Education Service District and managerial roles at Portland Community College. Carla holds a Professional Administrator’s License in Educational Leadership from Portland State University, a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Montana.
