Chris McCauley has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Chris is currently the Chief Technology Officer at GreyScout since November 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Qstream from December 2018 to August 2021.
From 2013 to 2018, Chris worked at Motocal.com as the CTO. During their time there, Motocal.com achieved significant success with over 100,000 active monthly users, despite having a small development team of fewer than 6 people. Chris utilized various technologies such as Ruby, Elixir, EmberJS, RabbitMQ, Ansible, MySQL, MongoDB, and Google Cloud Services to build their disruptive design and manufacture platform.
Before joining Motocal.com, Chris was a Co-Founder and CTO at Clavis Insight from October 2007 to January 2013. Clavis Insight was later acquired for $119 million by Ascential Plc. Chris played a crucial role in designing the REST-based cloud architecture, implementing the core product with a domain-specific language, and developing customer-facing systems using Ruby. Chris was also responsible for managing cloud operations with over 40 servers in the US and UK locations.
Prior to Clavis Insight, Chris worked at Informatica as the VP Product Strategy from January 2006 to May 2007. Chris led the technical due diligence team during the acquisition of Similarity Systems and aided in the smooth integration of technology, IT, development, and support teams.
From 2001 to 2006, Chris served as the CTO of Similarity Systems, starting as the third employee and designing and implementing the product. Chris was responsible for customer support, IT, and product development. The product's core engine ran on multiple platforms using C++.
Chris also held positions such as Chief Architect at Norkom from February 2000 to March 2001, Senior Architect at Irish Life Investment Managers from October 1997 to February 2000, Principal Engineer at IONA Technologies from October 1996 to September 1997, and Development Manager at CCC Technology from July 1995 to October 1996.

Chris McCauley completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from Queen's University Belfast, with a duration of study from 1987 to 1991. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Systems Management from Ulster University, from 1994 to 1998.
