Founder & CEO at GRID – Gaming Revolution for International Development

Mariam Nusrat is an experienced professional with a diverse background in the tech, education, and research fields. Mariam is currently the Founder & CEO of Gaming Revolution for International Development (GRID), a venture-backed tech start-up that is unleashing the power of no code for web3 video games. Mariam has held this position since 2021.

From 2016 to 2021, Mariam was the Founder and Director of GRID's Not For Profit arm, designing and implementing low-cost, context-vigilant mobile games to educate, engage and empower people for positive change.

From 2010 to 2021, Mariam was employed at the World Bank Group, where they held various positions, including Senior Education Specialist (on sabbatical), Operations Analyst, Economist - Africa, Education (Consultant), and Impact Evaluation Manager (Consultant).

In 2009, Mariam was a Research Assistant at the Centre for Management and Economic Research (Lahore University of Management Sciences), where they assisted with the impact evaluation of the SME Business Support Fund.

Mariam Nusrat began their educational journey in 2005, when they completed a Diploma in Economics from the University of London. Mariam then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Management from the same institution in 2008. Mariam continued their studies at the Lahore University of Management Sciences, where they obtained a Masters of Science in Economics in 2010. In 2013, Mariam Nusrat completed an M.A in International Development Studies from The George Washington University, with a focus in Development Economics and International Development. Prior to this, Mariam Nusrat had obtained O-levels and A-levels from the Beaconhouse School System. In 2021, Mariam Nusrat also obtained a Mindstone Course Creator - No Code Purposeful Games certification from Mindstone.
