Daniel Noriega is currently a Senior Project Analyst at GridMarket. Daniel previously worked as an Associate Market Design Specialist at NYISO from October 2016 to May 2018. There, they led the Energy Storage Integration and Optimization project, which entailed developing and implementing new market design concepts to capture the characteristics of this salient technology. Daniel also engaged with Stakeholders through the development of market design models to build consensus and improve design outcomes. Prior to their work at NYISO, Noriega worked as a Claims Assessor at ConSalfa Corp. from July 2013 to June 2015, where they assessed and presented a claim approved for $3 MMUSD. Daniel also created an assessment model for projects' impacts, which is now a company’s core tool for project evaluations. Noriega began their professional career as a Research Assistant at Universidad de los Andes from June 2012 to July 2012.
Daniel Noriega completed a Master of Arts in Economics at the University of Chicago, followed by a Master of Science in Energy Science, Technology and Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. Daniel then completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering at Universidad de Los Andes.
