David Pérez Piñeiro

David Pérez Piñeiro is a Research Scientist at Gridmatic since July 2023, following a role as a Research Scientist Intern under the guidance of Steven Diamond. David completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Control Systems and Optimization at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from August 2019 to June 2023, advised by Prof. Sigurd Skogestad. A Visiting Student Researcher at Stanford University from October 2022 to March 2023, David worked under Prof. Stephen Boyd, and earlier held a similar position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Prof. Richard Braatz from January to June 2019. David's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Energy Engineering from Universidade de Vigo (2013-2017) and a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy at NTNU (2017-2019). Prior experience includes a Research Scientist Intern role at SINTEF Energy Research in early 2017.
