Jason Burwen has a diverse work experience in the energy and policy sectors. Jason is currently working as the Vice President of Policy & Strategy at GridStor since 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Energy Storage at the American Clean Power Association (ACP) from 2022 to 2023. From 2015 to 2022, they held multiple roles at the U.S. Energy Storage Association (ESA), including Interim CEO and Vice President of Policy, where they managed and executed national advocacy strategies and developed relationships with key policymakers. Before their time at ESA, Jason worked as Associate Director of Energy Innovation and Senior Policy Analyst at the Bipartisan Policy Center from 2012 to 2015. Jason also has experience as a Senior Analyst at FSC Group and a Consultant at Hara Software, Inc. Additionally, Jason worked as an Analyst at the California Public Utilities Commission and an Evaluation Specialist at the Center for the Evaluation of Global Action.
Jason Burwen received their B.A. in Psychology and International Affairs from Columbia University in 2003. Jason then went on to pursue a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2007 to 2009. Following this, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Energy and Resources from the same institution, completing their studies in 2011.
