Robert Sherick has over 40 years of experience in the energy industry. Robert began their career in 1981 as an Engineer for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, where they managed wholesale trading operations and investigated the impacts of electricity deregulation on the distribution division. In 1998, they joined Deloitte Consulting as a Manager, consulting energy trading companies on technology and managing product implementations. From 2000 to 2005, they were a Product Manager and then Director of Power Supply at Pasadena Water and Power. During this time, they contracted renewable energy resources to meet Pasadena's Renewable Portfolio Standard, expanded purchase of natural gas fields, presented long term energy resource plan to public, implemented energy settlement system to manage California Independent System Operator's Market Redesign and Technology Upgrade, and presented energy supply issues to City Council. From 2007 to 2017, they were a Principal Manager at Edison International, managing electrical engineers and consulting engineers working on a portfolio of projects in wide area situational awareness, power system analysis, and power electronics in the Advanced Technology department. Robert is currently a Principal Technical Account Manager at GridUnity.

Robert Sherick obtained a Bachelor of Literature from UC Santa Barbara between 1978 and 1980. Robert then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles between 1983 and 1990. After that, they obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California between 1991 and 1994. Finally, they obtained an MBA in Strategy from the Drucker School of Management between 1996 and 1998. In 1993, Robert obtained a Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Additionally, in 2021 they obtained a NERC Certified System Operator certification from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC).
