Prabal Dutta has a diverse work experience. Prabal started their career as a Graduate Student at U.C. Berkeley in 2004 and continued until 2009. Prabal then served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Stanford University for a brief period in 2011. In 2010, Prabal became an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, where they worked until 2015. Prabal then transitioned to the role of Associate Professor at the same university until 2016. Prabal joined the University of California, Berkeley as an Associate Professor in June 2016 and is currently affiliated with the institution. Alongside their academic positions, they have co-founded and advised several companies, including Gridware in 2020, nLine in 2019, CubeWorks, Inc. in 2013, and Vizi Metering, Inc. in 2021.
Prabal Dutta received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University from 1992 to 1997. Later, they pursued further education and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley between 2004 and 2009.
