Nick O'Brien

Environment Artist at Grinding Gear Games

Nick O'Brien is an experienced Environment Artist currently employed at Grinding Gear Games since December 2021. Prior to this role, Nick worked at Flytrap Factory, focusing on hard surface sculpts in ZBrush for 3D printing miniatures from April 2019 to 2020. As a Freelance 3D Artist with Cuoma Games in 2017, Nick was responsible for the visual design of map tiles for a mobile turn-based game. Additionally, Nick gained QA experience through a brief internship at Scarlet City Studios, where responsibilities included testing and logging bugs for The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Creative Technologies in Game Art from Media Design School (2018 - 2021) and a Bachelor of Digital Design from Auckland University of Technology (2013 - 2015), alongside foundational education at Liston College (2006 - 2012).
