Darren Thompson

Darren Thompson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in organisational change and asset management within the mining and coal sectors. Currently serving as a Consultant for Organisational Change and Value Delivery at 1000 Up since November 2019, Darren previously held the position of General Manager Assets at ARTC from September 2021 to March 2022. Notably, Darren was the Chief Operating Officer for Prodeco Coal at Glencore from April 2013 to September 2019, overseeing multiple mines and rail operations. Earlier roles include General Manager Logistics at Red Button Group and various leadership positions at Rio Tinto Coal Australia and Coal & Allied. Darren's academic background includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in Metallurgy from La Trobe University.
