James Curran has extensive work experience in the field of computer science and education. James is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Grok Academy since August 2020. Prior to this, they co-founded and held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Grok Learning since January 2013. James has also worked as the Director at NCSS (National Computer Science School) starting from January 1998. Additionally, James Curran served as the Academic Director at Australian Computing Academy from January 2016 to February 2021.

James pursued further studies and earned their PhD in Computational Linguistics from The University of Edinburgh in the period spanning from 2000 to 2004.
