David Ternes is the founder of the Ternes Institute of Medical Innovation, where efforts are focused on developing strategic patent intellectual property for novel medical device solutions and exploring system-level nerve stimulation therapies for autonomic nervous system dysfunction. Ternes currently serves as a limited partner at Groove Capital and as the lead systems engineer at Cogwear. Previously, Ternes was an R&D fellow at Boston Scientific, leading development efforts for next-generation technologies in the Neuromodulation division, and held various roles at Boston Scientific from 1993 to 2019, contributing to cardiac rhythm management innovations and building a substantial patent portfolio. Ternes has engineering experience from Control Data and holds an MSEE from the University of Minnesota and a BSEEE from North Dakota State University.
