Tiffani Lawson

Energy Programs Lead- Mid Atlantic Region at Groundswell

Tiffani Lawson has a diverse range of work experience in the field of community outreach and youth development. Tiffani currently works as a Resiliency Program Manager at Groundswell, Inc. since April 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Community Outreach Coordinator at the City of Houston from June 2022 to April 2023, where they oversaw a team and managed the web presence for public engagement initiatives.

From March 2020 to February 2022, Tiffani worked as a Senior Regional Youth Development Director at YMCA of Greater Houston, where they headhunted skilled directors, fostered connections with stakeholders, and invested time in coaching and mentoring activities.

Before that, Tiffani held roles at Grand Street Settlement from July 2016 to March 2020, where they served as a Program Supervisor and later became a Youth Development Program Director. Tiffani oversaw programs in multiple community centers, facilitated training sessions, and cultivated relationships with funders.

Tiffani also worked as a Youth Development Program Director at Family Life Academy Charter Schools from August 2014 to August 2015, ensuring program quality, managing budgets, and establishing efficient protocols.

Their earliest work experience was at Children's Aid, where they served as a Youth Development Program Director from July 2012 to September 2014 and as a Youth Development Assistant Program Director from January 2011 to June 2012. During this time, they directed operations, strategized solutions to increase participation, and coordinated and supervised staff.

Tiffani Lawson attended the Tennessee State University from 1999 to 2002, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communications & Theater. In 2017, they enrolled at the CUNY School of Professional Studies and completed their Master of Arts degree in Youth Studies in 2019.
