Christophe Morel

Chief Economist at Groupama Asset Management

Christophe Morel has a diverse work experience in various financial and economic roles. Christophe started their career as an economist at the French Embassy in Israel in 1995 and later worked as an equity quantitative analyst at CDC Ixis Capital Markets in 1997. Christophe then joined the French Ministry of Finance and served as an economist in charge of financial and corporate finance affairs until 2001. From 2001 to 2004, they worked at CDC Ixis Asset Management as the Asia and Emerging markets strategist and later as the Global strategist. Christophe then joined the French Pensions Reserve Fund (FRR) in 2004 as the Deputy CIO in charge of investment strategy. In 2006, they moved to Natixis Asset Management and served as the Head of Tactical Asset Allocation until 2008. Christophe then joined Lombard Odier Investment Managers as the Deputy CIO of the Asset Allocation Group, a role they held until 2013. Christophe is currently the Chief economist at Groupama Asset Management since February 2013. In addition to their professional experience, they have also been involved in teaching activities from 1999 to 2006.

Christophe Morel holds a Doctoral Supervision Ability degree from the University of Paris-Dauphine, which they obtained in 2007. Prior to that, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Finance from the same university in 2000. In 1993, they earned a Master's degree in Finance from the University of Paris Dauphine, and also holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from the University of Rennes, which they obtained in 1993. Christophe Morel's educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Economics from the University of Rennes in 1991. Christophe also has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from the University of Paris 8 - IED.
