James Matheson

Jim entered the insurance industry in 1975 becoming an independent adjuster in 1978. He worked for one of the large national adjusting companies for several years before opening a small family run firm in 1981. He joined Marsh Adjustment Limited in 1992 and currently is a member of the Board of Directors. He specializes in property, general liability, as well as all lines of property and casualty claims; Jim has also handled municipal liability claims for over 30 years. Jim is a member of the Canadian Independent Adjusters’ Association (CIAA) and has served as an executive of the Nova Scotia Insurance Claims Association; Insurance Institute of Nova Scotia (IINS) and the Nova Scotia Pond of Blue Goose. He is working towards achieving his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) Designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada. Jim has made a number of presentations to industry and private organizations on Claims Investigation, etc during the course of his career.
