Magnus Helgason

Magnus Helgason is the current Principal at GrowthCurve Capital. Prior to this, they were a Board Member at People Corporation from February 2021 to March 2021. Magnus has also served as a Board Member at ProSight Specialty Insurance from February 2020 to March 2021, and at Genesis Capital LLC from January 2018 to February 2021. Helgason began their career at Goldman Sachs in July 2013 as Vice President in the Merchant Banking Division, before being promoted to Investment Banking - Summer Associate in the Financial Institutions Group in May 2012. Magnus left Goldman Sachs in July 2011 to join Landsbankinn (NBI hf) as Director - ALM, Treasury. In January 2007, they were promoted to Trader - Forwards and Money Market.

After completing their MBA at Columbia Business School, Magnus Helgason worked in finance for several years. Magnus then returned to school to earn their B.Sc. in industrial engineering from Háskóli Íslands. Magnus later became an exchange student at The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, where they studied finance and engineering.

They are on a team with Susan Yan - COO & CFO, Andrea McGuirt - Vice President, and Matthew Popper - Head of Financial & Information Services Investing. Magnus Helgason reports to Sumit Rajpal, Founder & CEO.
