Roberto Valdez-Beltran

Roberto has more than 13 years of professional experience in the microfinance industry with FINCA International, ACCION, and the Business Development Finance Corporation. His roles have included loan officer, credit analyst, senior loan officer, lead business development officer, market manager, and expansion markets manager. Prior to his work in microfinance, Roberto worked in the news industry for Grupo Reforma as a business co-editor, and for various local government organizations. He is a dual citizen of Mexico and the United States, is bicultural, and speaks fluent Spanish and English.

Roberto holds an undergraduate degree in economics from the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) and a master’s degree in public administration & policy from the University of Arizona Eller School of Management. Most recently, he has received industry-focused professional certifications through the Aspen Institute Emerging Leaders in Microfinance (ELM Squared Program), and Harvard Business School Program on Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance.
