Luis Fernando Aranguren

Luis Fernando Aranguren serves as Gerente de Salud Animal at Grupo Almar Ecuador since July 2023. Aranguren has held a position as Research Scientist at the University of Arizona since August 2006, focusing on shrimp pathogens research, aquaculture biosecurity, and the development of molecular tools for pathogen detection. Aranguren's background includes virology and bacteriology, with expertise in various diagnostic techniques such as PCR, qPCR, and histology. Additionally, Aranguren has been the Director of Animal Health at CENIACUA and an Aquaculture Consultant for the Ministry of Agriculture since January 2012, and previously served as Animal Health Director at CENIACUA from 2005 to 2006. Aranguren holds a Ph.D. in shrimp pathobiology and a Master of Science in microbiology from the University of Arizona, as well as a Bachelor's degree in marine biology from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano.
